The Election Commission (EC) has begun talks with seven political parties, including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the National Citizen Party (NCP). The dialogue started on Wednesday (19 November) at around 10:30am in the conference room of the EC headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka.
The EC is holding consultations with political parties ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election. As part of this process, today it will hold discussions with leaders and activists of 12 parties, including the BNP, Jamaat, and NCP.
From 10:30am to 12:30pm on Wednesday (19 November), the EC will exchange views with Jamaat-e-Islami, Bangladesh Minority Janata Party (BMJP), Insoniat Biplob, National Citizen Party (NCP), Ganosamhati Andolon, and Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM).
Later, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, the EC will sit with the BNP, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), Gonodhikar Parishad (GOP), Nagorik Oikya, Bangladesh Republican Party (BRP), and the Socialist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist).
