President Seeks Prayers from the Nation for Khaleda Zia

President Mohammed Shahabuddin has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating health condition of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is currently undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. He urged the people of the country to pray for her quick recovery.

The information was shared in a message sent to the media on Saturday (29 November) by the President’s Assistant Private Secretary.

Earlier on Friday, Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus also expressed grave concern about Khaleda Zia’s current condition. He has been regularly monitoring her health updates and instructed all concerned authorities to ensure every necessary medical support. The Chief Adviser also requested the nation to pray for the swift recovery of the three-time former Prime Minister.

Later that night, under the Chief Adviser’s instruction, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul and Special Assistant Monir Haydar visited the hospital to inquire about her condition.

Today, a three-member delegation of the National Citizens’ Party visited Khaleda Zia in the hospital. The team included the party’s Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr Tasnim Jara, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary, and Chief Organizer (Southern Region) Hasnat Abdullah.

Meanwhile, Mirza Abbas, a standing committee member of BNP, visited the hospital late Friday night to check on her condition. Speaking to journalists afterward, he said that Khaleda Zia’s condition remains unstable.

“We tried to speak to her while keeping a distance. She recognized us and responded to our greetings,” he added.

Around 80 years old, Khaleda Zia—who is suffering from multiple health complications—was admitted to the hospital again on November 23 after developing a lung infection and cardiac problems. She is currently undergoing treatment in the CCU under the close supervision of a medical board, consisting of local and foreign specialists.
