South Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna believes that men should experience periods to understand what women go through each month truly. The actress made this bold statement while promoting her upcoming film “The Girlfriend”, which releases on Friday.
During an appearance on Jagapathi Babu’s talk show “Jayammu Nishchayammu Ra”, Rashmika said:
“I wish men could have periods too. Only then would they understand how painful and uncomfortable those days are for women.”
Her remark sparked laughter and applause from the audience. Rashmika further explained that empathy toward women’s struggles can only grow when men realize the depth of their monthly pain.
The actress also drew attention when fans noticed a ring on her hand during the show. Host Jagapathi Babu teased her, saying, “So many Vijays in your life — Vijay Deverakonda, Vijay Sethupathi, and Vijay Thalapathy! Looks like you’ve conquered them all.” Rashmika blushed and laughed it off.
Directed by Rahul Ravindran, “The Girlfriend” stars Rashmika alongside actor Dikshit Shetty. The director said the film will encourage women to rethink love and relationships.
Currently, Rashmika is working on a women-centric Bollywood project titled “Mysa” and will also appear in an upcoming period-action film opposite Vijay Deverakonda.
Although the rumored couple has never officially confirmed their relationship, fans have long speculated romance between them. Reports even suggest they exchanged rings in a private ceremony in October, though Rashmika avoided confirming it publicly.
